The Rain Forest

The Hoh Rain Forest, one of four rain forests on the Olympic Penninsula, is a world heritage site and biosphere reserve that has remained largely unchanged for thousands of years.

Vancouver, Canada, where I am currently based, is known for its rain and receives about 40 inches a year, the Hoh Rain Forest, in comparison, recieves a staggering 14 feet, with the prevalent mist and fog contributing an additional 30 inches of moisture per year, resulting in one of the world's lushest, biodiverse rainforests that has trees regularly growing over 300 ft tall.

Felt so lucky to spend some time marveling these giants and was filled with gratitude to those past and present that had/have the forsight to protect a few of the wild and wonderful places like this that are left in the world ?????
