Solid day paddling out of the Astoria area completed! Last night I camped out at Aldridge Point about 15 miles east of the mouth of the Columbia River. After some bigger waves and portaging on my first day I had some beautiful weather on my second day and was fortunate enough to have the wind and the tide at my back.
I was also lucky that I brought along a "canoe kite" and managed to sail a good portion of the way upstream 🙌
It's a long way to the Gulf of Mexico, but I am so incredibly grateful to be out here starting to live this dream 🌊🛶🌞
