Just wanted to touch base with everyone with an update on my journey so far! Due to powerful currents, flooding, and debris just above St. Helens that made paddling up the Columbia for that section almost impossible for two weeks, I ended up getting help with a 75 mile portage of my canoe to Cascade Locks which I traversed and rode by bicycle instead π²π. This was a great ride through Portland and the Gorge despite a lot of hills and an intense heat spell that finally hit the area and probably took a gallon or two of sweat out of me π Β
None of this was easy to decide or do, but I am really glad to be on the other side of this significant hurdle and I am now ready to embrace new challenges and a new chapter of my journey canoeing through the extremely windy and challenging Gorge of the Columbia River πΆπΒ
Of course none of this would have been possible without some amazing people who have supported and believed in me on this journey so far. It's impossible in just a few photos to include all the good people who have helped me recently and have become part of my story and this meaningful chapter of my trip, but you know who you are. Thank you! ππΒ
